Call for Input (From a Committee Friend)

Agencies are finally starting to want to acknowledge and address the longstanding body of evidence and research about the disproportionately negative impacts of historic injustices. There is an interest in assessing what information is out there about how an agency can actually walk the talk in practice, i.e., work with the public, stakeholders, and analysts to document the impacts of past decisions, and even more importantly, do something tangible and meaningful with the resulting insights.

Committee members and friends are invited to share recommendations from research and agency practices that could be used as examples and frameworks for addressing the direct and cumulative quantitative and qualitative impacts of past decisions, including within a long-range plan or NEPA project development process.

Also, please share examples of recent or ongoing restorative justice efforts related to transportation projects.
