The Minnesota Department of Transportation is looking for participants to join the gender equity in transportation research technical advisory panel. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has been having transportation equity conversations around Greater Minnesota. We have had a difficult time connecting with organizations that represent women, girls, and LGBT+ folks. As a result, MnDOT is completing a gender equity in transportation research project to help us understand to role gender identity plays in transportation behavior. This will be the first such research project completed in the upper Midwest and we would love to have one person from your committee participate!
Our goal is to meet approximately 6 times for 90 minutes over the next two years with the requirement of follow-up work between meetings. The first meeting is expected in early March to discuss the project and to review the work plan. If interested in serving on the panel, email your interest to Hally Turner, Policy Planning Director with MnDOT at hally.turner@state.mn.us.
The research study will be focused around advancing gender equity in accessibility and travel experiences. The project will concentrate on the subjective well-being of participants in transportation using reported identity. If you are interested in reading more about the project, feel free to check out this link.
Thank you for your consideration.
